Commons and Rosenberg gallery, New York University, NY, USA
April 10 – 19th, 2024
Across media of painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, video, and more, each artist takes different approaches to explore themes of remembrance, family, identity, personal archives, and the relationship between past and present in their work. As a collaborative piece, the stage of the Commons Gallery was transformed into an ‘attic,’ a combination of archived works and found objects.
The galleries housed interdisciplinary art that represented and abstracted ideas regarding memories of home and family and were transformed into spaces reminiscent of a domestic environment.
Features work by Andy Xu, Cambell Romano, Clara Bromberg, Coco Guo, Jara Lopez Sastre, Joshua Lee, Mahira Naznin, Marwa Ibrahim, Olivia Pietrzak, Ruyang Wang, Sarah Lee, and Stephanie Halpern.
The artist acknowledges the support of the exhibition artists and New York University.
